JOB ADVERT - Community Development Enabler


Primley United Reformed Church wish to appoint a Community Development Enabler to support and grow our Community Hub.

We are seeking a candidate who can develop and lead on effective working partnerships within the local area. To include planning, design, and evaluation of specific projects in line with community need.

You will have a clear passion and heart for working in a small-town context, and the ability to align yourself and advocate for those who find themselves on the margins of our community.

Minimum of 18hrs per week; Salary dependant on experience; Fixed Term for 3 Years

LENT SERVICES & LUNCHES

On the 5 Wednesdays throughout Lent at 11.45am, there will be a short service followed by a bread, cheese and soup lunch at a different church in the Sidmouth area each week.
There will be a Fairtrade stall each week, and any donations will be given to Christian Aid.

Feb 25th - Primley URC Sidmouth,
March 4th - St Peter's Sidford,
March 11th - Methodst Church Sidmouth,
March 18th - Catholic Church Sidmouth,
March 25th- The Parish Church, Sidmouth.


Everyone is very welcome, as this is such a great opportunity for the different churches to come together, and for everyone to share informal fellowship with each other.


RISE UP AND SING PAPERLESS CHOIR

This choir is on Fridays from 1.30-3pm and is led by The Collective in Sidmouth, ( URC and Methodists).
It is free, and all you need to do is turn up and sing!
Everyone is very welcome.


SUNDAY SERVICES

Our Sunday services are informal and we meet at 10.30am.
Coffee, tea and biscuits are served after the service.
Each 3rd or 4th Sunday we share in Holy Communion.
You will find a very warm welcome for everyone. Please come and join us.


BREAD CHURCH

Bread Church is a new way of worship.
It is is led by The Collective (URC and Methodists) in our church hall on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 12noon.
We share a meal of homemade bread and soup together and afterwards our meditation time follows different themes, thoughts and discussions.

BUMPS AND BABIES

This is a group for expectant mums or mums with young babies who get together on Friday mornings during the school term from 10am-11.30am.
Refreshments are provided, baby weighing scales are available.
Also support and advice is available too, about breast feeding


SID VALLEY FOOD BANK

The Foodbank operates from the church on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10am - 11.30am.

DROP-IN CAFE

Our Drop -In cafe is in the church every Tuesday morning from 10am - 12noon during the school term.
It is open to everyone.
Also there is the prescence of the CAB, Foodbank, Financial Resilience on site whilst the cafe is open.


BI-MONTHLY COMMUNITY FRIENDSHIP LUNCHES

Have you often spent Sundays by yourself and would enjoy some company?
Perhaps you'd like someone else to cook lunch, with no charge, no catch and no washing up!

MONTHLY HOME GROUP

We share informal discussion and study, usually monthly, in a friendly Sidmouth home.
Always yummy refreshments as well!

HALL HIRE

Our well equipped and comfortable hall is available to hire both on a regular basis, and for one -off occasions ie parties, celebrations.
